Ingredients:

• Ivermectin
• Pyrantel

How to Use:

1. Give Heartgard Plus orally to your dog once every month.
2. Ensure the dosage corresponds to at least 2.72 mcg of ivermectin per lb of body weight.
3. Additionally, administer 2.27 mg of pyrantel (as pamoate salt) per lb of body weight.
4. This dosing protocol effectively prevents heartworm disease and controls ascarids and hookworms.

Safety Precautions:

• Ensure all dogs undergo testing for heartworm infection before initiating Heartgard Plus treatment.
• Keep in mind that Heartgard Plus doesn’t target adult D. immitis, so infected dogs require separate therapy.
• Treat infected dogs to eliminate adult heartworms and microfilariae before starting Heartgard Plus.
• Although ivermectin in Heartgard Plus may impact some microfilariae, it doesn’t clear them completely.
• Watch for mild hypersensitivity reactions, such as transient diarrhea, in certain dogs following treatment.
